Rules for Submitting Music To Insane Realm Radio
Note: We only accept Hard Rock & Metal Submissions, everything else will be ignored.
Requirements for submission:
If the music you are submitting doesn’t sound like the music in your CD collection we don’t want it. If it sounds choppy, clicking or with excessive clipping we won’t be playing it. While we do love independent bands we do have to make a decent presentation to the listener, if the music we play sounds awful, the listeners won’t come back to Insane Realm Radio or care to hear anymore from your band.
All music submission must be in mp3 format with a bit rate of no less than 128kbs. Files in any other format or less than 128kbs will be rejected without notice.
Tag your mp3 file(s) correctly.
We will automatically reject any mp3 file sent to Insane Realm Radio that is tagged incorrectly. All mp3 ID3 Tags must be filled in correctly. This isn’t our requirement, this is US Law and we are based in the United States.
Title; the name of the song
Artist; This should be obvious
Album; Name of the Album or EP song is off of. If the song is a single (and not off any album or EP) then the name of the song goes here again along with the word (single)… EX: Name of Song (Single).
Here is a couple of very good tag editors recommended by our staff.
If you don’t tag your files, then we will not even listen to your music.
WE WILL NOT DOWNLOAD INDIVIDUAL TRACKS OFF OTHER WEBSITES, so…. This includes ReverbNation. SoundCloud or your bands website. DO NOT SEND US LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES (REVERBNATION, ETC) TO DOWNLOAD YOUR MUSIC. THIS WILL RESULT IN YOUR SUBMISSION BEING IGNORED.
DO NOT EXPECT US TO GO TO ITUNES, AMAZON, BANDCAMP, ECT AND PURCHASE THE MUSIC YOU ARE ASKING US TO PLAY.
What you should do:
- Zip up your submission (again we will NOT download a bunch of individual tracks).
- Include in the zip file a bio; which contains all the information about your band (members, etc)
- The bio should also include links to your Facebook, Twitter, ReverbNation Page, etc.
- If Possible; A photo of the band should also accompany the music in the zip file (optional).
All music submission must be in mp3 format and no less than 128kbs, files in any other format or less than 128kbs will be rejected without notice. We can not stress this enough, the music you submit MUST be properly tagged. We won’t do it for you.
Q. How many tracks should I submit?
A. As many as possible. The more you submit the higher your chances are for getting airplay and the more tunes we have of yours, the higher your chances are of staying in a longer rotation.
Q. Should I include a Press-Kit or One-Sheet?
A. Always… This is for a couple of different reasons; One do not assume everyone knows who your band is. Chances are greater that most people do not. Plus, a press-kit or one-sheet GREATLY increases your chances for airplay or possible interviews.
Q. What is a Press-Kit or One-Sheet?
A. Either is an information pack that contains information about your band; Bio, Social Media Links, Photos and more. There are sites that allow you to make an Electronic Press Kit (EPK)ArtistEcard, ReverbNation and EZpresskitz, just to name a few. If you have a copy of Word or equivalent you can make a presskit in just a few hours with all the info you need.
Comments or questions are welcome.
Q. When will I know if my band has been accepted for airplay?
A. If your music is accepted for airplay we will inform you.
Q. What Genres do you accept.
A. We only accept, Hard Rock and Metal (all sub genres). Anything else will be ignored. So if your band doesn’t fit into one of these genres then don’t waste our time or yours submitting music to us.
