Review Slipknot: Unsainted

So I’ve been sitting here listening to Slipknot’s recently released single “Unsainted” from their as yet unreleased 6th studio album “We Are Not Your Kind” Available August 9th 2019 via Roadrunner Records, and I have to say, I like it…… ALOT. Seriously, I dig it.

It’s great to see new music coming from Slipknot, fourteen tracks in all make up their latest work and you can guarantee we’ll have more coverage of that as new singles become available and/or release day gets here. It is worth noting that “All Out Life” which was previously issued last fall is not included in the track listing.

Curious curiousness…..

At any rate, “Unsainted” seems to lean toward Corey Taylor and company going somewhat back to their roots, if I had to compare “Unsainted” to any of their previous works, I personally get an “Iowa” vibe though I guess we’ll have to see what the rest of the album brings. That said I would be completely okay with an entire album that sounds just like this track, as even though “.5: The Grey Chapter” was good and Charted well in the United States and abroad (reaching #1 in several countries) it just never felt quite right as a Slipknot Album.

In the video which was released the same day as “Unsainted” we get a first look at the brand new alliteration of Slipknot’s masks and perhaps we get a taste of what’s to come as we get closer to “We Are Not Your Kind”?

That said, check out the video for “Unsainted” below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
